What does it cost to transfer a domain name to WebsRus? There is no fee for transferring your domain name to WebsRus.

Can I have my own name.com with WebsRus? Yes. You will have your own domain with any of our hosting packages.  These domains are true virtual domains with unique IP addresses.

Who is InterNIC?    The interNIC is the independent organization responsible for registering top-level domain names, such as .com, .net, and .org.

What are the hours that your servers are connected?   Our servers are connected 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and monitored.

Do you run Apache?    Yes. We run Apache on the Linux OS.  We do not run the less reliable NT.

What are Autoresponders?   An autoresponder will send an automatic reply back to the sender of an email message addressed to your special auto-reply email box.  When you have a message you want others to receive, simply write a simple text file. You can have an unlimited number of Autoresponders at no additional fee.

How can I access my E-Mail?   All POP clients can be used. Any program which downloads the files from our server onto your computer.  You can use mail user-agents, which run on our servers, such as pine or vi.

What is an email alias?  An email alias means if you send mail to support@your-name.com, that address is aliases to whomever needs to receive it. It can be one person or multiple people, and these aliases are unlimited.  You get as many as you need for no extra charge!

Do you have a database system?   Yes, we use mySQL.

Do you have FTP and FTP anonymous access? Yes, we provide both FTP and FTP Anonymous access with all accounts.

Is there a limit on the FTP transfers?  No, there is no limit.  You can update your pages an unlimited amount of times, at any time of the day or night.

Is there SSL technology available?   Yes, we use Apache-SSL which is several times more secure than others.  It has been certified by Thawte.

Do you provide a CGI-Bin personal directory?   Yes, a CGI-Bin is provided with each account.

What is CGI access?    CGI scripts are used to provide things like counters, form responses, guestbooks, and many other interactive components. You can write your own scripts, or install premade PERL scripts.

Will I have to pay for a domain name?   You will pay $35 per year (two years in advance) directly to InterNIC in order to use your own domain name.

Does WebsRus offer web page design services?   Yes, we have several packages starting at $25.  Contact sales@websrus.com for more information.

Can I use my account for commercial purposes?   Of course you can use your account for commercial purposes.

Are there any restrictions on the content of how I use my Web Site?   You may not use our servers to publish adult or obscene material or provide a list of links to such material.  You may not use you account for mass mailings or types of activities which violate generally accepted Internet guidelines.
